Ben Bruns
A totally protective government is a government which goes to extraordinary measures and controls a large amount of power so that it can successfully monitor and “protect” its citizens. While I believe that the government has a responsibility to protect its citizens to the best of its ability, I also believe that it is vital to a free society that a government not become overly powerful over the people. The people must be more powerful than the government and in a protective government, hyper surveillance is required for a totally protective government to be able to operate. Pre crime would have prevented the Las Vegas shooting because they could have seen the murders ahead of time and they could have prepared to stop the shooter.
