Minority Report Quentin Herzig
Pre-crime is an endorsement of technology by society. In an era where technology influences every facet of our lives, the conclusion to use technology in crime is a logical one. While technology is very useful, a line has to be drawn. When we use the judgment of technology to determine guilt over humans, this indicates a loss of humanity in society. A human crime cannot be determined by something that is not human, making the system fallible by nature. Furthermore, if the future is known by those involved in it, they may directly influence it and if they are aware, a different outcome may happen. The only way for this technology to be infallible would be if no one knew its predictions, however, if this is the case the system becomes inherently useless.
