The militarization and the advancement of police forces around the country have been an ongoing debate for some time now. Minority Report is one of many films which shows the implications of having an infallible police force. An infallible police state is when the police hold on to a lot of power and are never wrong in the eyes of the law. This is illustrated in Minority Report as precrime which is a system used to stop murders before they even happen. This system gave police undeniable power and ended up putting a lot of people away. In the context of today's society, I do understand that precrime would stop a lot of senseless and violent crimes, however, giving the police all of that power could be damaging to disenfranchised groups of people who already suffer under the current state of police in our society. The movie also showed that precrime was not always necessarily right and there were some anomalies that showed alternate futures for the would-be murderers. It is also just a gross violation of privacy to invade someone's mind like that. An example where precrime could have been useful is the Charleston church shooting where a white man entered a black church and killed 9 people. Since this crime was premeditated precrime would have been able to stop it days before.
